Energy calibration of the NaI(Tl) calorimeter of the SND detector using cosmic muons
The general purpose spherical nonmagnetic detector ( SND ) is now taking data at VEPP-2M ee collider in BINP ( Novosibirsk ) in the centre of mass energy range of 0.2 ÷ 1.4 GeV. The energy calibration of the NaI(Tl) calorimeter of the SND detector with cosmic muons is described. Using this method, the energy resolution of 5.5 % (σ) for 500 MeV photons was achieved.
متن کاملAn Electromagnetic Calorimeter for the Silicon Detector (SiD) Concept
To complement LHC capabilities, ILC detectors must reconstruct hadronic final states, including reasonable separability ofW jets from Z jets. The LDC and SiD full detector concept designs include silicon-tungsten (Si-W) electromagnetic calorimeters (ECal) for particle flow reconstruction of jets at the ILC. With high density and segmentation, they are critical to the physics goal jet energy res...

The CMS electromagnetic calorimeter
From 2007 the new CERN proton proton collider will start collisions that could open new perspectives in the fields of high energy particle physics. The CMS experiment at the LHC is in advanced construction phase. In particular new physics could be discovered thanks to the CMS precise electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) made of about 75000 scintillating PbWO 4 crystals. A description of the ECAL ...
متن کاملThe CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter Readout
CMS is a general-purpose detector designed for use in the large hadron collider (LHC) at CERN. The electromagnetic calorimeter will play an important role in electron and photon energy measurements. The benchmark process to evaluate and optimize its performance is H −→ γγ in the intermediate mass range (90 < mH < 150 GeV). For this purpose, each element of the readout chain has to be optimized....
